And then there's the OTHER Iggy

This guy is going to drive me crazy. He pisses me off so bad, and then he turns around and gives this wonderful, inspirational speech to a bunch of young Liberals in a pub. Not even a speech, because it really seems like he's speaking from the heart.

[grumble]

BTW, is it just me or does he have this whole Martin Landau thing going on?

No, it's not just you, Jennifer. I've thought the same thing.

Doubt if he has Barbara Bain to go with it, though . . . .

(The really cool (?) thing about this comment was the word verification part: "c-o-n-d-i" Yucchh ! ! ! !)

  2. His strong pro Israel stand is really refreshing. I like that side of him a lot. But I don't like his stand in favour of "coercive interrogation", acts which the UN has defined as torture. I guess with any leader you take the good with the bad.

  3. It's taking me a while to draw a bead on Iggy. He's maddening one second and inspirational the next. I still have a lot problems with his pro-Iraq war stance.

  4. If Ignatieff was our Prime Minister at the time we'd be at war in Iraq right now, and we'd be supporting the U.S. detention camp in Guantanamo. Imagine the consequences to Canada for all of that. But this is who Ignatieff is.

  5. i don't have a speck of trust or respect for ignatieff. he strikes me as the worst sort of opportunist. and anony #1 support of israel at this point in history is certainly no more noble than being in favour of coercive interrogation. israel is acting as a terrorist state in its dealings with the palestinians. one war crime is no better than another. iggy is harper in a different colour of sweater. i'll campaign and vote against both the liberals and conservatives next time out.
